I always love a yummy smoothie as it’s an easy way to include nutrients and vitamins in a very quick meal. Normally I like to put protein powder in my smoothies but I think it’s important to switch them up a bit. There are many to choose from but I would say the Sunwarrior ones are a good go-to. Sometimes I use pure hemp protein but the taste is quite special so you can’t use too much of it or you’ll ruin the flavour of your smoothie. Remember that some protein powders can be hard on the stomach so don’t eat too much of them. We shouldn’t eat too much of any one foods, even healthy ones! Below I’ll share one of the most simple smoothie recipes:
- 50 – 100 grams of frozen strawberries
- 1/3 banana
- 1 portion of any high quality protein powder (for ex. Sun Warrior)
- approx. 1,5 cup of milk of choice (I like Rude Health almond milk)
- 1 tbs of maca or baobab powder
In this photo the smoothie is topped with pomegranate and some chopped up mint leaves and strawberries but you can obviously use whatever you have at home. I love chopped pistachios, almonds, blueberries or hemp seeds.
