Matcha, which is green tea powder, has a bunch of health benefits. It is said to boost metabolism, reduce cholesterol levels, protect from certain forms of cancer and in general work wonders for your well-being thanks to its high content of antioxidants. The best thing about matcha however might be its amazing taste. This matcha latte isn’t what I would recommend for someone who is on a low-cal diet but it’s a treat I like to enjoy every once in a while I’m craving something sweet. It’s a great alternative to coffee as it also contains a bit of caffeine.
Matcha powder can get lumpy so the best thing is to use a a blender. You can also blend the matcha with some palm sugar first, then add in the rest of the ingredients and shake in a mason jar. I usually do that when I’m feeling a bit lazy.
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- some palm sugar, date syrup or chopped up dates (only use fades if you are using a good blender)
- 1 cup milk of choice (I recommend almond or pistachio)
- 1 teaspoon of almond butter (optional)
Pour in a blender or shake in a mason jar. In the summer I love this over ice but in the winter I like to heat it up.
